HATE ETERNAL. NOT HATE UNTIL KIDNEY FAILURE.

Hey speaking of life-threatening health problems, Hate Eternal frontman Erik Rutan has been in the hospital for a week after seven (of 29) dates on the otherwise shitty Job For A Cowboy tour. We at HooM! are not Dorito-gobbling cockbags who self-righteously scold druggie rockers who neglect their health; however, it's a fucking travesty that Metal people outside of the Pacific time zone will be robbed of live Hate Eternal awesomeness. Harsh! From Blabbermouth:
Hate Eternal has been forced to drop off the tour due to an infection in Erik Rutan's hand and complications in his kidney. Rutan was admitted to an Iowa City hospital on the early morning of November 23rd and has remained under doctor's supervision since. The infection has caused concern for the doctors, but the major concern of the doctor's is Rutan's kidney, on which the guitarist-vocalist has had a couple of procedures done.

Rutan and Hate Eternal will not be able to continue the tour, but he is expected to make a full recovery. He is expected to be released sometime next week and then will seek further treatment at home in Florida.
The death of Jared Anderson (Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel) was the inspiration for Hate Eternal's Fury & Flames, a frontrunner for 2008 Metal Record of the Year (new video "Bringer of Storms" above). So let me fly off the handle here and say that if Rutan follows that masterpiece with his own demise, I'm going to exec produce the posthumous Hate Eternal collection and title it Punching Erik Rutan's Corpse In The Face. Ok I'd like to apologize for that last comment. Hate Eternal rules!
