I'm aware that the U.K. media is kinda wacky with the global standard-setting paparazzi and page 3 boob pics. But never did I even suspect that they get slammed with costly libel suits for stating publicly accepted facts. Like The Sun, which stated in an October article that Sharon Osbourne was driving her aged, infirm husband to an early death. From BBC.com:
A spokesman for the star said: "Sharon is delighted to have won her case [against The Sun]. She would prefer not to have to take legal action against the media, but had no alternative in this case."Sharon and Ozzy are pleased that they can put this matter behind them," she added.
I dispute that final statement since Ozzy hasn't ably put any matter behind, in front, or to the side of himself since fringe jackets were in. Sure seems like Shosbourne is lashing out on all fronts to keep this house of cards in place; if you recall, and you don't cuz the story was all but buried, the Osbournes won a similar suit last year following the 2008 Brit Awards, which Ozzy co-hosted for some reason. Other people who've assailed her non-existent credibility have met with raw eggs and assault. And then there's the gruesome Osbourne Family Please Love Us Variety Show forthcoming on Fox. Hey how's Jack doing at Sony? And Kelly's next record is where/when? I mean Sharon rules! Don't sue us!
