Good thing I caught 15 excruciating minutes of VH1's The Pickup Artist 2 last night, or I would be baffled by the complex strategy behind the new video by tech-metal greats Protest The Hero for "Palms Read" (above). The totally unriveting clip has it all: guys with beards, sexless dancers in unflattering leotards, a frenetic band calmly sitting down, some talking, a high-school gym, a total of two different facial expressions. But for serious, this dud simply must be PTH's attempt to ahem demonstrate high value with cool nonchalance after tugging at our bra straps with this. That's an understandable move, though the band's toehold in non-obscurity is too tenuous to allow for egghead antics and overthinking. So I've pencilled two hours into my Thursday to beat PTH's management to death for this. Because HooM! cares sha-la-la-laaa.
